New York City and Long Island’s Green New Fuel

New York is known as one of the cleanest and greenest cities in the world, and that’s due in part to Bioheat® fuel — the future fuel that heats your home today.

In New York City, as well as Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties, all Bioheat fuel contains at least 5% clean, green biofuel made from renewable resources like soybean oil. Here in the five boroughs, the biofuel component is scheduled to increase to 10% by 2025, 15% by 2030 and 20% by 2034. City officials estimate that the transition to 20% biofuel has an environmental impact equivalent to taking 175,000 cars off the road.

Furthermore, with the support of fuel dealers like us, cutting-edge research is being conducted every day at the NORA Liquid Fuels Research Center in Plainview, Long Island to help find ways to make Bioheat fuel even cleaner and more environmentally friendly. In fact, farther east at Brookhaven National Laboratory, scientists recently compiled a report on Bioheat fuel blends tested at 20%-100% biofuel.

It’s because of work like this that we are able to deliver clean, safe and reliable blends of Bioheat, the green new fuel New Yorkers like you can count on today and tomorrow. For more information, call your local Bioheat fuel dealer.
