- 11:33 am - December 11th, 2017

The New Year is fast approaching and with it comes an opportunity to lower your energy costs. Just put these handy tips on your calendar and let the savings begin!

January – Kick off the New Year by investing in a programmable thermostat which, when properly used, can save you up to $100 or more on your annual heating bills.

February – Warm your heart and your home in the Month of Love by keeping the warm air in. That means caulking, sealing and weather-stripping doors, windows and anywhere air is leaking.

March – March into savings by keeping your electronics unplugged when you’re not using them.

April – Make the savings rain like April showers by upgrading your heating system. Through the Upgrade & Save – New York City Rebate Program, you can receive up to $700 in combined rebates and save up to 40 percent on your energy costs when you upgrade your oil-fired furnace or boiler and aboveground storage tank to higher-efficiency models.

May – Do a little spring cleaning by changing your air conditioner’s filter regularly throughout the cooling season.

June – Bring out the grill to keep the heat out of your kitchen. It could help you save electricity, too.

July – Enjoy a little energy independence on Independence Day and every day with American-made, environmentally friendly Bioheat® fuel.

August – Don’t let the sweltering heat in the Dog Days of August fool you … it’s not too early to schedule your heating system’s annual tune-up. Do it before the fall and winter rush!

September – The kids are back at school, which means the house is empty more often. Remember to turn out the lights before you leave.

October – It’s all treats and no tricks with a full-service Bioheat® dealer. They can help you upgrade your heating equipment, keep it operating smoothly, help you manage costs and more.

November Thanksgiving won’t be the only day you’re thankful when you wrap your pipes to guard against freezing and heat loss.

December – Give yourself the gift of savings during the Holidays with a tax credit of up to 20 cents for each gallon of Bioheat® fuel you buy, at one cent for each percentage point of biodiesel in the fuel. Visit our Bioheat® page to learn more.
